三、形容词和副词的最高级

最高级指三者或三者以上的比较。表现形式为：the+最高级。

This book is the most difficult one to read.

He works the hardest among the three.

可以修饰最高级的词，almost；by far；far；mostly；much；nearly这些词通常置于所修饰的最高级的定冠词前：very置于定冠词后面。

He is almost the tallest in the school.

This is the very best chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted.

good, well-better-best

bad, badly, ill-worse-worst

many, much-more-most

little-less-least

far-farther, further-farthest, furthest

old-older, elder-oldest, eldest

五、倍数的表达方式

A+倍数+形容词或副词的比较级+than + B,表示“A比B大（长、高、宽等）多少倍。

This rope is twice longer than that one.

这根绳子比那根绳子长两倍。（这根绳子的长度是那根绳子的三倍）

This hall is five times bigger than our classroom.

这个大厅比我们的教室大五倍。（这个大厅是我们教室的六倍）

Asia is four times as large as Europe.

亚洲的面积是欧洲的四倍。

The big stone is three times as heavy as that one.

这块大石头的重量是那块的三倍。

The plane flew ten times as high as the kite.

那架飞机的飞行高度是那只风筝的十倍。

六、其他比较的表现形式

越来越……，表现形式为more and more+原形，或比较级+and+比较级。

More and more people want to be volunteers.

This city is more and more beautiful.

You should study harder and harder.

越……就越……，表现形式为the+比较级，the+比较级。

The harder you work, the more you get.

你工作越努力，得到的就越多。
